We are looking for a Space Systems Integrator to join a cross-functional product team building a cyber security module for spacecraft. Our primary target is mid-LEO” Earth observation, science missions, commercial constellations.

You will be the team's expert on how spacecrafts are put together, across mission classes from CubeSats to large platforms, and on the buses, redundancy schemes, and architectural patterns our customers live with. You will join before the baseline exists.

Your first job is to set it: the buses we commit to, the interface behaviours we guarantee, the way the module participates in a customer's redundancy scheme. These are decisions the product will live with for years.

Your main responsibilities will include

  • Writing and owning the interface control documents, integration guides, and reference architectures that customers' integration engineers build to

  • Acting as design authority for everything observable at the connector i.e. interface behaviour, timing, bus configuration

  • Specifying and validating spacecraft-side simulation and test configurations with the Test Automation Engineer

  • Advising customers on placement: how the module fits their redundancy, fault-handling, and timing architectures

  • Owning the system-level technical relationship with the hardware vendor

  • Engaging early in discovery to surface system-level risks and options the rest of the team may not see

  • Supporting customers through integration - pre-sales consultation, integration reviews, and debugging at the spacecraft level when needed

  • Directing customer integration experience back into the product

As a successful candidate, you must have

  • Direct, hands-on spacecraft experience, i.e contribution to the architecture, integration, or operation of at least one real spacecraft that flew or was built to fly (coursework, simulation, and pure research roles do not meet this bar on their own)

  • Architectural breadth across spacecraft scales - practical familiarity with how nanosats, smallsats, and larger platforms are architected, where they differ, and what each demands of onboard components

  • Genuine working depth on several onboard buses and protocols, such as Time-Triggered Ethernet, standard Ethernet, SpaceWire, CAN, UART/RS-422/485, I²C/SPI, MIL-STD-1553, CCSDS Space Packet Protocol - meaning how they are used, configured, made redundant, and debugged on real vehicles, with test equipment in hand

  • Experience with spacecraft redundancy architectures and how onboard components participate in them

  • Systems engineering rigour” requirements decomposition and traceability, technical budgets, margin management; familiarity with NASA NPR 7120/7123 and the SE Handbook, ECSS-E-ST-10 / M-ST-10, or equivalents

  • The communication skills to explain and defend interface decisions to external engineering teams, and to write clear and precise documentation

You will stand out by having any of the following:

  • Direct customer integration experience - application engineering, field engineering, or supplier-side integration support on a flight programme

  • Production embedded development skill in C, C++, or Rust” letting you prototype reference integrations and bus emulations, and contribute directly to the testbench rather than only specifying it; genuinely differentiating, not required

  • FDIR design experience” fault trees, autonomy logic, or safe-mode behaviour on a spacecraft that flew

  • Mission operations exposure” flight ops support or console shifts

  • Hands-on instrumentation and debugging fluency” driving bus analyzers and oscilloscopes, reading a packet dump, reading interface-layer C well enough to catch implementation drifting from the ICD, and scripting your own analysis tooling

We are offering

  • To be a part of different exciting Cybersecurity Space Domain Projects projects

  • Supporting and motivated team

  • Flexible working arrangements

  • Possibility to attend work-related conferences or trainings of your own choice

  • Wide range of company benefits (paid health days, sports allowance, massage in the office, different events etc)

  • Private office space in Tartu or Tallinn
